Is there any way to limit the volume when the Google assistant changes the volume?

Sometimes I try to change volume my bluetooth speaker with Google assistant. When I said "OK Google, Please change the volume 7%" then Google change the volume 70%. This makes me really annoying and no way to change 1~10%. The most strange thing is sometimes it works that I expected. Is there any way to limit the volume when the Google assistant changes the volume? because my speaker output is enough, so I need only under 15% of the volume.

Hi heesu,

Thanks for reaching out.

Could you tell us what Google speakers are you using? There are several ways to control the volume of the Google Assistant, your media, timers, and alarms on Google Nest or Home devices.

Have you already tried the command "Ok Google, set volume to 7" instead of 7%? Does it have any difference on that command? However, if you're referring to lowering the volume of Google Assistant, you can try to check this setting:

  1.  Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Audio and then turn off Lower volume when listening Off.

Hope this helps.

Hi heesu,

Thanks for the details you've shared.

Let's go ahead and perform a complete reset to your Google Home Mini and as soon as you're done with that, set it up and test to see if it will give you the same results.

@Princesss

I am using Google home mini and Google assistant(Galaxy S21) to connect with a soundbar(HW-Q800A) for playing music using, like "Hey Google, playing music on Google Music." And I said, "set volume to 7" -> it set 70%, and "set volume to 7%" -> it set 7%. It works properly, but sometimes Google home(and Assistant) listen wrong with 7% to 70% and set the volume to 70%, and it goes nightmare. I usually control this using just voice. So that malfunction makes me panic to find my phone to stop the music.

That's why I need a setting to limit the max volume. The programmatic way or simple way anything is fine.

Thanks,

Heesu
