Issues playing music on my Nest speaker via Apple music

Hi, i am having issues playing music on my Google nest speaker with Apple music, this however works fine with spotify. Apple music is my default player and when i play music, it just says "[Music name] playing on apple music" but then doesn't play. and when i check on the google home app, it shows the poster of the music and player however the music doesn't actually play.

Hi Fotie,
 

I know how it feels when something isn’t working the way it should. Let’s further check on it. Do you have a premium subscription to Apple Music? Was it working before? Were there any recent changes made in the Google Home app or your Apple Music account?

 

Let’s do some troubleshooting steps:

 

  • Open the Google Home app > Settings > Music > Choose “No default provider” > Unlink your Apple Music account.
  • Force close and reopen the Google Home app. Relink your Apple Music account and set it as the default music.
  • Unplug your Google Nest Mini for a minute > Plug it back in.
  • Play music again.

Hi, thanks for this, I tried that, it worked and after some time stoped working and I tried again then it didn’t work. I’m not sure why though. I’m stuck now.

 


PS: I was on the beta preview program and left like 5 days ago. And yes it was working before and stoped, pretty much it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t.

Kindly provide the Cast firmware version of your Google Nest Mini device. Try as well to factory reset your Google Nest Mini and then set it up. If the issue when playing Apple music persists, install the Google Assistant app on your phone and then ask Assistant to play Apple music to check if it does the same behavior.

I tried all the above, resetting and setting it up all over again and each time i get the same result(Not working). It surprisingly worked with the first approach you asked me to try before and then eventually stopped working. 

Here is my Cast firmware version: 2.57.375114
