Google Home does not play on default speaker groups after I have streamed audio from Spotify. Example: I've connected my phone to my WiFi and opened Spotify and cast from Spotify to a speaker group. Later that day I ask google to play music, it responds and says playing music on <the speaker group name> but nothing happens. The work around is to open the speaker group and change the name and save it. Google then plays the music on the speaker group when I ask again.

Hi Dan Roberts 1082,

Thank you for your message! I am sorry to hear that you are encountering issues with your speaker groups when you try to use Spotify. I understand your frustration, as I enjoy using my Spotify daily.

Unfortunately, at this moment, this is an emerging issue of Spotify having issues with Google Nest and Home devices. Our team is aware of this situation and are working on getting this issue resolved.

In the meantime, I recommend you casting your music from Spotify.
To cast from a mobile device, you will go to the bottom right of your screen of your Spotify App. You will see a desktop screen and speaker icon next to each other. Once you click on it, it will show which device you are listening to Spotify on. Below that will be a list of devices you can select to transfer your music to. Your speaker should be on the list. This is what I usually do when I use Spotify and haven't had any issues.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Please feel free to reach out with any other questions or concerns. Thanks!

Till this day I still have the same problem.. is there a fix ?

My situation is :

I created a group with.

1 google nest hub max

2 harman kardon citation one

And called it "group".

Whenever I say "hey google, play today's top hits on group". To the Google nest max

It says oke....

But only the max plays the song.

The other devices show up like they are playing from group but they don't play.

When you adjust the sounds your hear the harman speakers creating a sound animation of turing up the volume the but it doesn't play the songs.

When I try to play them separately, they work.

I troubleshooting  I did:

Delete cash from google group.

Delete google app,and reinstall.

Factory reset both of the harman speakers.

Deleted em from google home and reinstalled em.

Create a new group.

Sometime it work but not for long.

I hope someone can help.

Thanks.
