My speaker keeps saying it’s not linked to an account. But it is!

Hi Zack3,

 

That's not the experience we want you to have and we're here to help. A few questions: what Nest speakers do you have and which are unlinked from your account? Were they working before this happened? Are you able to give voice commands? It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers. 
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops. 
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

I did the "sequential reboot."  And it seems to be working.  Thank you!  

However, the "mesh test" fails: "Your mesh connection is not working.  Some points may be disconnected or offline."  It says the speaker (which now works when I ask it to play music) is offline (it calls the speaker Wifi?  There is another device that looks just like the speaker that is the wifi, I believe.)  Is this a problem?

Hi Zack3,

 

Thank you for trying the steps. Are you able to control your Nest speakers via voice or through your Google Home app? Also, when you say the speaker is called as Wi-Fi, do you mean that the device you have there is a Nest Wi-Fi point? These are the ones that work as a mesh point and also as a speaker. You can do a sequential reboot one more time to see if it changes its status.
