Locked up and now it doesn't power on

Display locked up.  Didn't react to any touch.  Unplugged and then plugged back in.   No sign of life on screen.   The switch at the tob back will cause the orange light to illuminate but even when doing factory reset steps nothing happens.   Just got it out of box less than one week ago and it's dead.   I'm shocked.

Any ideas on what to do?

Getting it replaced through Google Nest support. Talked through chat support and they're arranging replacement after repeating troubleshooting I got here.

I've tried the troubleshooting to try to reset the device by plugging in and unplugging 11 times but the screen never lights up.  Also holding the volume buttons does nothing either to get it in recovery mode.

I got the device as a gift for Xmas and didn't get a gift receipt.  I only used it for less than a week.

This is really disappointing that it froze up and was unresponsive and since then it won't turn on or show any signs of life.

Hopefully chat support has an idea.   Or a community specialist can create a case for me so I can get it replaced.
