Losing wifi connection

Speakerfix
Community Member

Hi all!

We are encountering some issues with our google hub. It loses the connection with the wifi. Nothing has been changed in the house, it just started happening. We allready reset de router. And of course, every time there is no connection, I unplug the hub which solves the issue for a little time. Sometimes, I need to unplug it a few times before there is a connection.

What else can I do?

Thanks in advance!

Hello @Speakerfix

We are so happy to see you here! I apologize for all this inconvenience with your Google Hub. Don't worry, I'm here to help you with that.

I really understand your current situation. Let me lend you a hand to find a solution. Let me ask you a couple of questions to get more context.

Could you tell me what the firmware version of your device is?

Are there other Google Nest displays set up and working in the home?

Are you stuck, or do you see an error message on your screen?

Feel free to share these details with me, and definitely I will do my best to find a solution.

Best regards,

Douglas.

Hi Douglas,

We have 2 hubs and 1 little nest. Only 1 hub seems to have issues, though the other one is only being used for screen for the doorbell.

I regularly see the wifi lost connection screen which says I should reset the router etc. Sometimes I see my Google photos but when I asked to play Spotify, it says it doesn't have Internet connection.

The firmware of the system is 18.20240225.3 63

And for the cast 3.73.4111796

Thanks very much.

Hello @Speakerfix

Thanks for your reply! I appreciated the information you provided me. I will work to find a solution for you.

We can try these steps to determine the situation for this Hub. Please let me know if you try:

  • Restart Google Nest: Unplug the power cord from your speaker or display. Leave it unplugged for 1 minute. Plug the power cable back in.
  • Reboot the router: Unplug the Wi-Fi router from the power source for 2 minutes. Ensure that the router's lights turn off completely when unplugged. After 2 minutes, plug the router back into its power source.

If nothing changes, we can try a Factory reset Google display

Feel free to keep us posting about your process. I'm happy to help you.

Best regards,

Douglas.

Hi Douglas,

Thank you for the reply. I allready restarted google, even took the device out of my home-app. The router has also been reset.

But... I'm carefully saying that the issue seemed to have solved itself. Since yesterday afternoon, there is no wifi connection loss anymore. Fingers crossed it stays that way! 🤞🤞

Best regards,
