Is there a way to make media controls permanent when playing music on google home devices? there have been so many times when I go to swipe away a notification, then the controls pop up and I swipe those away instead. once they have been swiped away I cannot bring them back. So I was wondering if there is a way to lock them so I cannot swipe them away from my android device while music is playing?
thanks in advance

Unfortunately there is no way of looking the notificationd in place on an Android device.
I apologise for any inconvenience that may cause.
Thanks for your question.

Hi Brocinco,
Thanks for posting.
It seems this has something to do with your phone’s notification status. What phone are you using? Which Nest speakers are we working with?
It would be best to go to your phone’s settings, go to notifications and enable Google Home app.
Also, notifications in the Google Home app are set to off by default. Let’s check it out and try which status is the best. Follow the steps below:
For other notifications in the Home app, go to Manage your Google Home app notifications.
Keep me posted.
Thanks for helping, patrice58.

My notifications are all fine. And it happens on any device. Once you seipe away the controls, theres no way to bring them back.

Hi Brocinco,
Apologies for the delayed response. May I know what phone you have been using and which Nest speakers are we working with?
To isolate further, if you have another phone where you can install the Google Home app, let’s use that and see if the behavior remains. When you install the Google Home app, just use the same Google account you used on your original phone. Replicate the issue and monitor its behavior.
Tell me how it goes.

Dan

I have used a moto z4, samsung s8 tablet, samsung note 22, and i am now using a samsung flip4. They all do the same thing. Once you swipe away the control notification you cant get them back.

I am on android 13 on all my phones and home app is updated.

Hi Brocinco,
Thanks for coming back to us. Please note that media controls availability on phones will depend on the feature of the phone itself, and Google doesn't have any control with that. Unless your phone/tablet has an option to make it permanent on the home screen, and that option should be available on phone settings.
Hope this helps.

Muddi

No. Its a real bummer that we cant make them permanent or at least bring them back somehow.
