Making a phone call from hub to phone

My son is staying home alone sometimes and in the case of an emergency I would like him to be able to call my phone which is the primary phone for my Google Home app.  I can't seem to make it work and have spent a long time trying a lot of things I have found online.  I am in Canada.  Please help!

With Google Nest and Home speakers and displays, you can make calls to friends, family, and businesses with your voice. There are 3 different ways Nest speakers and displays can make calls. Availability varies by country.

• Duo calling
• Google-supported calls
• Carrier calling

Could you please verify which set up you prefer?
