Hi @osopanda57,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry that you are having issues with your Thermostat display, I’d be happy to help you. Let’s check it out.

Based on the error you are receiving, I'd suggest the following:

  • Step 1: Make sure that the wires are flat on the base
  • Step 2: Loosen the screws of the base
  • Step 3: Make sure the thermostat display is properly seated
  • Step 4: Check the 20-pin connector: Inspect the 20-pin connector for any visible damage. Check both the male and female ends on the base and display. Make sure the pins are straight and in good condition.
  • Step 5: Swap thermostat displays (if possible)
  • Step 6: Perform a battery disconnect

Further Troubleshooting Steps:

If the above steps don't resolve the issue, here are some additional things to try:

Power Cycle the Thermostat: Turn off the breaker that supplies power to your HVAC system for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on. This can sometimes help reset the thermostat. You can also review this article to Install your Nest thermostat.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Mario
