Mini speaker issues

In the past 2 months I've noticed it's been harder to get the device to respond. I find that I have to repeat myself 3-5 times and/or raise my voice. I live in a studio and the device sits in pretty much in the center of the space. For the past 3 years it's never been a problem.

Hi Mouse75,

 

I know how it feels when something isn’t working the way it should. Let’s do some troubleshooting steps.

 

  • Unplug the power cord from your Google Home Mini for a minute > Plug back in.
  • Open the Google Home app > Settings. Under Home features, tap Privacy > Home activity. This opens a list of all recent voice commands you’ve given.
  • Identify the most recent command that generated a failed response. Select Details > Tap the Play button (if there’s any). Check if the recording is clear, static, buzzing, or distorted.
  • Factory reset your Google Home Mini device and set it up.
