Multiple devices in one room - prioritizing one

Hello - I have a Hub Max and a Google wifi point in the same room. Both are on the same account, same wifi, same room in Home app. When I ask to set a timer, it seems random on which device hears me and starts the timer. I'd like the Hub to be the default and the wifi point to not respond.

Sensitivity is turned all the way up for the Hub, and all the way down for the wifi point, doesn't seem to make a difference.

Thanks.

Hi @Mark7,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this with your Nest hub and your Nest Wifi point. Don't worry, i'm here to help.

Since you've already adjusted the sensitivity, there isn't another option to prioritize the Nest Hub's response. I recommend that when you give a command, please specify which device you want to perform the action. For example, if you want to set a timer, say, "Hey Google, set a timer on the Nest Hub." That way, the timer will be set on the desired device. I also encourage you to submit feedback directly from your device, if you haven’t already. Just say “Hey Google, send feedback” and provide as much detail as possible when prompted. Your input will help us to create or improve our services.

Please let me know if you have any questions from here, as I'd be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Cheers,
Jonathan

You have to have your language set to English (United States)...

On a Nest Hub Max you can enable Quick Phrases so you then don't have to use the wake words "Hey Google" to set a timer and 9 other things.

Search"Assistant Settings" on your phone and scroll down to Quick Phrases.
