Music alarm and general play simultaneously

My music alarms go off with the general alarm at the same time; two alarms at once. I say stop, and general alarm will stop, the music alarm continues to play until I say stop a second time. I use different music each day, seven alarms total and this happens randomly one or two days a week. I have removed the alarms, set them up again, same issue. I have unplugged the mini for 20 seconds to reboot, still same issue. Latest version home app. On the Android v11 home app the alarms display correctly in the settings. Also some days there is no music alarm or general alarm, just the white lights pulsating on the mini until I say stop.

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. 

 

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s check what’s going on. A few things: which Nest speaker? Were there any recent changes made before the issue started? What is the distance between your Nest speaker from your Wi-Fi router?
 

Since you already did a good amount of troubleshooting with this issue, this time let’s do the factory data reset to put your Nest speaker back to its default setting and set it up again as a new device. You can check the helpful link below on the steps on how to do the reset.

I actually swapped minis,  over and above  the factory reset. Deleted device, swapped with a working mini from another room and re-added the new device in the room.  Same issue. Here is an odd thing. Yesterday I only got the general alarm, today I only got the pulsating lights, no audio  (almost overslept, LOL). Yet both songs chosen for the media alarm  displayed in my Spotify app as recently played, just like they would if it was working normally and had actually played the music
 
I have a very robust mesh network. There is a module in the next room, the signal strength is strong, measured by the signal strength app WiFi Analyzer.

Thanks for trying that. Sorry that you are still experiencing the issue. Since this issue happened again with another Nest Mini in that same place, could you try to put it on where the working Nest Mini was situated and see if it will make a difference?

I tested it out, and no it did not work. I only got pulsating lights, no audio. Volume was turned up. Spotify displayed the song chosen for the music alarm played. It did not.

 
It may be the issues Google is having with the new update which is quite the change. We will see. Although I did get the invite, I did not get the updated Home app.
