Music on google home devices

I’m having the issue where I have successfully linked my Apple Music account to my google home devices. Every time I ask google to play music, it will bring up the Apple Music as if it’s about to start playing music and then just stays like that without playing music.

not really sure how to fix it since I’ve tried powering the device(s) off and on several times, reconnected to Wi-Fi network several times, and even unlinked and linked the music account several times.
