Music plays from Youtube Music rather than my default provider Spotify

When I ask my Nest Speaker (actually a Nest WIFI Access Point with built-in Speaker) to "Play music in the Kitchen" is plays music via Youtube Music rather than Spotify which is my default music provider.

It plays on the correct device : a Chromecast Ultra called "Kitchen Speaker" in the room "Kitchen" in out house. This probably doesn't matter, but the Chromecast is plugged into an Onkyo Receiver (audio input only) and playing out of Zone 2 - I mention it mainly because I have no way to see video output from this device.

This seems to have just started happening - pretty sure it was using Spotify yesterday. Any ideas what's up?

Some more info.

This problem also occurs when I ask my phone (Galaxy S20) to play music - it plays with Youtube regardless of the default music provider. So this is not related to either the speaker or the chromecast I mentioned before.

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting my Spotify account. I also tried switching the default music provider to Deezer (a newly created and connected account). Neither helped - it still plays using Youtube.

If my wife says exactly the same thing to the speaker it uses Spotify as expected, so this is something specific to my account. This only started happening recently - I have been using this feature for some time prior to that without problems.

Update: this problem seems restricted to specific artist(s). If I say "Play Pink" it plays using Youtube Music (for me - my wife still gets Spotify). If I say "Play Metallica" or any other artists I tried so far it uses Spotify.

Mysterious.
