Hey
I'm starting to think my Google Home Audio hates me, or is it just a bad product?
When I bought it, the point was for me to have one speaker to rule them all.. something along those lines. I live in a fairly small place, with a limited budget, and I wanted to get rid of all the chords from my old audio setup so I bought one of these during black friday.
So the point was for the speaker to be my main speaker for the PC. That's prio number 1. When I Googled around for information on this, I didn't find much.. and when I asked people at the local store who had these they didn't know either. But I was promised a refund if it didn't work.
Now.. it doesn't work as a main speaker through Wi-Fi. The only thing it does is work with apps like Spotify, and I'm sure it would tell me the weather or something like that if I didn't have windows.. or Apple. But I really don't need this feature. I need it to be a **bleep**ing speaker.
So I bought a Bluetooth-stick for my PC setup, and connected the speaker through there and boom. It worked! Amazing sound, all day, every day. For one. Single. Day. And then, it didn't want to work anymore. No sound. I've tried everything, I disconnected the speaker from my bluetooth on my pc, on my phone, I reinstall the bluetooth and speaker-drivers, I try restarting my pc after doing these steps, I even went back to fabric settings on my pc to see if there was any actual problems with my PC.. and lo and behold! The speaker worked again. This time, for around a week or so.
Yesterday, everything was fine. I turned on my PC, sound was working. I turn off my pc to go to bed. Today, I wake up, and no sound.
When looking at the Bluetooth-window, all I see is that my Nest Speaker is connected as "Other Devices". When it was working, it was connected as "Sound" - But there's no button for me to fix this? When I try disconnecting from everything, and reconnecting, there's no choice for me where I can TELL MY PC that it's a sound device? Is it not sound anymore? What happend?
Would love not having to go to fabric settings every time my speaker decides it's not a speaker anymore. Thanks for any help. Ask questions, I'll be hear all day since I don't have any sound anyways..

I'm having the exact same issue, any help would be greatly appreciated. My Nest Mini was working just fine as a BT Speaker and then it suddenly cut out and no more audio device.

Having the same issue!! I've hard reset the Nest Audio speakers, nothing. Windows 11 won't recognize as an Audio Device anymore. What changed?! I paid a lot for two speakers and had NO SOUND now. 😞
