Hi Lee Allsop,

Thank you for your post. That is really unfortunate to hear that your Google Nest Hub keeps turning off. I understand your frustration and would be more than happy to help. First, I have some questions to get a better understanding of this situation.
  • Which Google Nest Hub is this post in regard to? (model name, generation number)
  • Is this a new issue? Was your device working normally before?
  • What happens when this issue occurs? Is it randomly or when you are doing something on the device?
  • Is your device powering on, responding to commands, and working besides this issue?
  • Does your device still show up as connected in the Google Home App?
  • Do you see any error messages when the issue occurs?
  • Have you tried to do a Factory Data Reset on the device? Does the issue still occur?
    • A factory reset will reset your Google Nest or Home speaker or display to its default factory settings.
Note: This action will clear your data from the device and can't be undone.
I appreciate your patience and look forward to your response.

Hi there, I believe I'm having a similar issue!

My nest hub (Model: Nest Hub , 1st Gen) will randomly power off. If i remove the cable and insert it again it will power on, connect to the app and work as usual, however and i don't know why or when it happens but it can just switch off. I don't know when this started to happen but it wasnt like this and worked fine for a long time after purchasing it.

More recently, after powering it on several times, it remains "on" but the screen is frozen and it is not recognised as a speaker that is connected to my home network - i imagine it has powered down in all aspects bar the frozen screen.

There are no error messages, but once unplugged and powered on, it will work as usual and respond to commands, show up in the home app.

- i will try a factory reset now and see if that clears up the issue, although i doubt it will. I have another Nest hub in the house and that seems to be working fine.

Thanks,

Phil

Thanks for doing that, i factory reset it by holding down the volume buttons for 10+ seconds and after the set up it will work for a little while (i haven't timed it), and then will go back to freezing or powering down.

The one i have in my kitchen is all the while working well and going strong.
