My Nest Mini won't connect to my WiFi

I've recently switched internet providers and therefore been in the process of switching all of my devices over to the new WiFi. Unfortunately, whenever I try to set up my Nest Mini (2nd gen) it gets to the stage where I need to connect the Mini to the WiFi and fails after a few seconds with the message "connection problem during setup. [Nest Mini] could not connect to [WiFi network] - please check your password".

I've tried all the steps from here, tried moving the Mini even closer to the router, tried using a different Android device for the setup, and even tried a factory reset of my device yet nothing seems to work.

The obvious culprit seems to be my network, but I'm not so sure. I have both a Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra which I was able to set up without issue on my new network (not to mention all the other WiFi enabled devices I own). In addition, the Mini would occasionally lose its internet connection for several minutes at a time or just sporadically stop playing my music even on my old WiFi, so I'm wondering if it's just a faulty device.

Hello! The post explains our current issue perfectly. We just had a technician for our internet here and tried to have his assistance setting up the nest mini but still getting the error about checking the password. Password has been correct and the same. Only thing we changed was network name and speakers stopped working. I have a nest hub and it connected fine.
