My Nest mini doesn't answer.

I ask many different questions to my speaker, but it doesn't answer anything. It just says, "Sorry! Something was wrong. Try again in a few seconds", then I ask again, unsuccessfully.

I restarted it many times, and nothing.

what should I do?

I think Google messed up. All of a sudden this is happening with all my Nest Minis only, and they have started changing their voices, as some others have posted, so it's not just one, and my Hub is fine

Hi folks,

@gmmauro, @NestPenguin, I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Mini's aren't responding to commands ― a few questions: when did this start? How far are your devices from your router? It would help a lot if we do a sequential reboot by unplugging the power cord of your router followed by your Nest Mini's. Plug them back in starting with your router. Restarting your phone might also help.

Tell us how it goes.

Best,

Dan

This started about 2 months ago or more; my internet is excellent.
I already restarted the Google Mini, already deleted the mobile app. I've done all that.
I feel like throwing this device in the trash. I speak slowly and try in every way to keep in touch. When the device answers me, it does not answer my commands.

Hi gmmauro,

Thank you for doing the steps provided. When you give a command to your Nest Mini, does the LED light show up? Could you switch the mic button(on the side) off then on again? Does it still respond with "Something went wrong"? It would seem that doing a factory reset is the way to have this resolved. Doing so will revert your Nest Mini back to its default and original settings. Setting it back up is a must. Here's how.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Dan

Hello.

I have tried it and other ways. But nothing. It keeps on answering ‘something went wrong’

Hi.

yes, the led light shows up. the google mini is “thinking” for a while, and nothing. I did a factory reset; I did all the tips I got from here.

Hello gmmauro,

Hats off to you for being patient and doing the steps provided. May I know how far your Nest Mini is from your router? Could you have one closer to your router and do a factory reset on that specific one. This time around, instead if connecting to Wi-Fi, I was hoping that you have another phone that we can use to link your Nest Mini to its personal hotspot? You need 2 phones for this, 1 phone is to use for the set up and the other is where you connect to.

I'll be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,

Dan
