Hi Harshi_269,

Thanks for posting here in the community forum. I understand how frustrating it is that the audio breaks when you cast via browser from your laptop. But don’t worry. It’s a pleasure to assist you.

To provide you with accurate troubleshooting steps, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • When did the trouble first occur?
  • What make and model is the laptop that you are using?
  • How far is the Nest Audio from your laptop?
  • Are your laptop and Nest Audio both connected to the same wifi network?

If you have any more information that could be helpful, please let me know.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hi Harshi_269,

Thank you for following up. I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with your Nest Audio. Thanks for providing additional details for the issue and I’d be happy to help you.

Here are some troubleshooting steps:

  1. Disconnect from the speaker or display via the Google Cast extension, then re-cast.
  2. Turn the Wi-Fi off and on, on the Casting device (make sure it reconnects to the same Wi-Fi network that the Google Nest Speaker is connected to).
  3. Exit any resource-intensive applications that are running.
  4. Turn off power saving mode: To do this, go to the computer settings and turn off power saving mode. Also, consider plugging-in the computer.
  5. Reduce the distance between the TV, casting device (phone, tablet, or computer), and Wi-Fi router.
  6. Confirm that the browser, device operating system, and Chromecast software are up to date.
    • Chrome browser: To check the browser version number, go to the Chrome menu and select About Google Chrome. If there are any updates available, install them.
    • Device OS: If there are any updates available for the casting device, please install those updates.
    • Nest Device Firmware: Update Firmware: Check for any available firmware updates for your Nest devices. Sometimes, updates can resolve language-related issues.
  7. Reset Nest Speaker: If none of the above solutions work, you might Factory reset your Google Nest or Home speakers or displays.

In case it is needed, you can check the following article to Cast media from Chrome to your Google Nest speaker or display.

Please keep me posted.

Regards,
