My nest audio is damaged?

Hi everyone! 😞

I try to make it short but during this week I had issues with the electric services (all block had it) finally is fixed but yesterday I see that my Google nest does not respond or pairs with my phone, it just turns lights for a while like it was turning on but then the lights go off and a minute or two later again, I tried to reset it but the top buttons don't respond either.

When I saw the electricity failing I disconnected everything but I'm worried those ups and downs damaged it.

Is there something else I could try??? 😞

Sadly I don't see an option to add video to show and share a better explanation.

Thanks either way! 🍓

Hi!  That sounds super frustrating—power fluctuations can cause issues with smart devices, especially if they aren’t connected to a surge protector.

Since the buttons aren’t responding and the lights keep cycling, it sounds like your Nest might be stuck in a boot loop or has been affected by a power surge.

Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Hard Reset (Forced Restart):

    • Unplug the Nest device from power for at least 60 seconds.

    • Plug it back in and wait to see if it completes a full boot cycle.

  2. Try a Different Power Adapter/Cable:

    • If you’re using a USB-powered model (like Nest Mini), try using a different adapter and cable. Sometimes the adapter is the problem, not the device.

  3. Factory Reset (If the device becomes responsive):

    • If it powers up and you can press the reset button, try holding it down for 10 seconds or more until you hear a chime or voice prompt.

  4. Use the Google Home App:

    • Try removing the device from the app and re-adding it.

    • If it doesn’t show up at all, that’s another sign the device may be damaged.

Unfortunately, if none of this works and the buttons remain unresponsive, the power issues may damage the device. If it's still under warranty, I’d recommend reaching out to Google Support with all the steps you've tried.
