Need replacement cable

Hello Google Support Team,

I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment regarding the lack of availability of replacement power adapters for the Google Nest Audio smart speaker in Australia.

As a consumer, I find it unacceptable that Google does not sell replacement power cables for this device directly to customers. The Nest Audio uses a 24V ⎓ 1.2A power supply with a 4.0 mm outer / 1.7 mm inner barrel plug (center positive) — a fairly specific connector that is not readily available at typical electronics retailers.

I have read your responses to support posts and searched your online store, only to be told that replacement adapters are not sold separately. This leaves Australian customers with no official way to repair or maintain their devices if a simple component like a power cable is lost or damaged. This approach not only encourages e-waste but is also in breach of reasonable consumer expectations under Australian Consumer Law.

Accordingly, I will be lodging a formal complaint with Fair Trading Queensland regarding this issue. I believe your current policy fails to support consumers' rights to reasonably maintain their devices and may be in breach of Australian regulations regarding spare parts and repairability.

I strongly urge Google to:

Make replacement power adapters for the Nest Audio available for individual purchase in Australia.

Provide clearer technical specifications and sourcing guidance if third-party adapters must be used.

Align product support policies with Australian Consumer Law obligations.

Please take this issue seriously. Consumers deserve better.

Need to buy college papers without the usual drama? Check here first. I used it during finals week and the writer actually followed my instructions perfectly. Communication was smooth and delivery was on time. Definitely one of the more reliable options out there—plus, it saved me from totally bombing my class.
