Nest Audio (Chalk) Making a popping sound or crackle

Has anyone had an annoying pop or crackle from their Nest Audio? I just got this speaker but noticed the issue with in the first day or two.  I used to have a Google Mini in the same location and never had any problems.  I was wondering if it might be cell phone interference but it doesn't appear to be that.  I noticed the issue while streaming a local radio station but now I'm going to do more testing while streaming Pandora.

Hi longboardluv,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about your Google Nest Audio concern. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. Yes, you can try playing music via Pandora or another music service to isolate this.

You can also refresh your devices and observe if it makes a difference. First, reboot your Wi-Fi router, and once the network is back up, do the same thing to your Google Nest Audio.

Regards,

Juni

Hi Juni, I tried all that and it still "pops" it's very annoying. I just bought this speaker and I'm thinking it's bad.  It happens when streaming Radio or Pandora regardless.

Hey there,

Chiming in, let's go ahead and reset your Nest Audio. By performing a factory reset, all settings on your Nest Audio will be refreshed, which can often resolve various issues.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Locate the mic switch on the back of your Nest Audio and switch it off. This will be indicated by the lights turning orange.
  2. Press and hold the center of the Nest Audio, near the top, for about 5 seconds. This will initiate the factory reset process.
  3. Continue holding the button for an additional 10 seconds, until you hear a sound confirming that the device is resetting.

Once the reset is complete, you can set up your Nest Audio again and test if the issue has been resolved. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Cheers,

Muddi

I tried all that and it tried moving it to a different outlet and it still popping.  has anyone else reported this issue?  could I have a bad unit? I'm really disappointed. my regular google mini was in the same location with no issue.  I really love the sound but when I hear the crackle or pop it makes me cringe.
