Nest Audio Stereo Pair 'can't connect to the other speaker'

Hi there,

I facing same issues as many other on this board.

I tried all steps mentioned.

But unfortunately pairing doesn't play on both Nest Audio but left speaker said 'can't connect to the other speaker'.

They are in the same room only 1 meter in distance. Both connected to the same router on the same wifi with 5gHz.

DNS and UPNP is set.

In this post is a workarround to create a new Google home.

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Nest-Audio-Stereo-Pair-can-t-connect-to...

I think it isn't the right solution for me, as I have many devices in my Google home which are controlled by my other family members.

Can it work, if I put the nest audio in another home than the other devices?

And why isn't there an Firmware-Update ore something else on this behavior?

If there isn't a working solution in the next days I will send back the nest audio's.

Best

Daniel

What is the make and model of your wifi router, or if you don't know, is it WiFi 6?

Hi, yes it is a WiFi6 Router: Fritzbox 7590ax.

You could be experiencing the WiFi 6 bug. Google Support have advised that their devices are not compatible with WiFi 6. I've had it before as well where a speaker pair of brand new Nest Audios will give the same warning (randomly, not all the time), until both speakers are rebooted and they re-join the network.

Hi dkape,

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Your Nest Audios can only run 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. We understand that this would be helpful, however the option is not available.

In line with this, we want to encourage you to send feedback from your end and we’re hoping for all the possibilities by taking our user’s feedback and suggestions.

Let us know if you have additional questions, otherwise we'll be locking the thread in 24 hours.

Thanks for helping, Biggsyboi!

Kind regards,

Dan

No problem but just wanted to clarify what you meant about an option not available? WiFi 6 broadcasts in both 2.4ghz and 5ghz

Hi Biggsyboi,

Apologies for the delayed response! Google Home devices are not compatible with Wi-Fi 6 and its settings and features are not available and not designed for Nest speakers. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us and we're always looking for ways to improve. You can send feedback. Let me know if I can assist you in anything else, otherwise I will be locking this thread in 24 hours.

Best regards,

Dan

I'm not sure if you misunderstood something, as I was already saying it turns out WiFi 6 routers are not supported (even though WiFi 6 routers also broadcast in WiFi 5, which is why all our other devices that don't support WiFi 6 still work where the nest devices don't)
