Nest Audio Stereo pair router dependant

This is regarding a new pair of Nest Audio smart speakers bought together and intended to work as a stereo pair.   They work fine separately (when not as a stereo pair - but as a stereo pair they only work connecting to my main router.   When, in their intended location, they are linked to a TP-Link Powerlink (EoP) receiver's cloned WiFi point - one speaker asks you to link it and the other responds but fails to stream anything.

I've seen similar problems here where the particular router was the issue but it's a pretty new device and works fine for other things?  Any ideas on what the specific problem could be - and especially a solution!

I don't think the platform is the issue as simply moving the speakers causes or "resolves" the issue.

Cheers.
