Nest Audio needs to be activated

Nest Audio: I've had my speakers in storage for a few years, and now that I try to set them up in Google Home it informs me that I must activate them. I follow the instructions to download Device Utility App but then the Google store tells me that app is not available for my to to date Android , how do I work around this?

Hi Edser,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you're having trouble setting up your Google Nest Audio after they were in storage.  You're encountering an inconvenience where Google Home requires you to activate the speakers, but the Device Utility App is unavailable for your current Android device. I know how difficult it is when a device is unable to set up as desired. I'm here to help! To gather some more details, I'd like to ask the following questions:

  • What's the exact version of Android your phone is running?
  • When the Google Play Store indicates the Device Utility App is unavailable, does it provide any specific error messages or codes?
  • Are you logged in to the right Google account?

If you have any other information, let me know; it'll help.

Best regards,
Juan
