This one's a doozy. I have two Nest Audio speakers that I use for music and occasionally for TV audio. When I first got them, I had the usual setup troubles that plague many Google Home products, e.g., having to set it up multiple times, canceling and having to factory reset to abort a failed setup, etc. but I managed to get them up and running and to create a stereo pair. They must have the world's most fragile connection, because the smallest network hiccup or even a power failure knocks them off my wifi network and won't let them reconnect.
Today I wanted to cast to this pair, but YT Music couldn't find the group. I went in the Google Home app and it said I can't change the settings unless it's connected to the same network as my phone. But it is. No matter how many times I try this, the only way to solve it is to factory reset both of them. I've had to do that 10 times. Before Google mods accuse my network of not being robust, I have a two unit mesh router (not Google) with plenty of coverage in my 600 sq ft apartment. Almost every other device on my network has no issues, only these speakers and sometimes my Nest Hub, but I'll get to that. After factory resetting, I run into that same issue upon setup. It tells me that my phone isn't on the same network. I even turned off my guest network in hopes it would run smoother. The only way I can kind of get it to work is if I set the speakers up on my iPad, oddly enough. Once the speakers are connected to Google Home and paired, they typically run well right after this process. However, when I try to cast later, I run into the same issue, then I have to reset again, lather, rinse, repeat. I mentioned I also have this issue with my Nest Hub, though a simple disconnect-reconnecting of the power cord usually solves this temporarily.
Nothing else in my place has this issue at all. I have a couple more Lenovo smart speakers that have no trouble reconnecting after a power outage or network blip. Google Nest products are the only ones that have this issue. How can I solve it? Please don't say disconnect them and reconnect them, like I haven't already tried that.

Hello CheapCChair,
Thanks for sharing details about the issue. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues with your Google Nest speakers and displays. I'd love to dig deeper into this. To confirm, have you tried moving one of your devices near the main router or WiFi point to check if you will have the same issue? Also, are your network bands separated or the mesh automatically switches networks?
Looking forward to your response.

Hello, both of the speakers are within 3 feet of the main mesh router. The Nest Hub is about 7 feet away from the router. My router (Netgear Nighthawk) uses one main SSID that switches between 2.4 and 5 depending on the device. I switched off the guest network in case that was conflicting, but that uses a virtual SSID. My other devices are setup in a similar way and are about as close to the router as my speakers since it's a small apartment.

Hi there,
Thanks for the quick response. If your Netgear Nighthawk is a model R7000. Please try these steps below:

I don't have that model but mine already had these options ticked. Doesn't explain why only certain Google devices are having this issue now.

Hey CheapCChair,
Sorry for the delays. May I know the firmware version of your Nest Audio? Also, is iPv6 enabled on your router?
Cheers,

Hi there,
I just wanted to follow up on this. Have you had the chance to check your router settings?
