Nest Hub 2 cant find anything in Home Control

Hi everyone,

On my Nest Hub 2 it does’nt show anything on Home Control, it only show one tile «Room», but det screen only turns black when entering the Room tile.

Problem is fixed when changing the native language in the Google Assistant app, but in a while (over night) it seems like its reset.

Any ideas?

Br,

Erik

I have the same issue.. Did you by any chance found a more sustainable solution yet? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I have the same issue as well...

It sucks... Should we expect answers from Google on this forum thread? Or is it some better places to complain about this?

I had just had a chat session (of almost 2 hours) with Google support.
I had to reboot my router and phone, but as expected no result. Now I had to change all my phone settings to English (while I am Dutch...). And the devices are visible in the Home Control tab on the Nest Hub. I will leave my phone settings in English for today and check if the devices are still visible tomorrow.

In the end it should work in other languages because I mainly bought the Hub for my kids. That way they can also use the smart devices etc.. But they don't speak/read English yet.

On Friday I planned a new session with the concerning Support employee. If I find the solution together with Google Support, I will let you know.

I have the same problem and I also talked to Google support yesterday.

After changing the language back and forth in Google Assistant (not in iPhone), the tabs "Devices", "Routines" and "Rooms" were displayed and I could then also see the devices and rooms under this tabs.

But overnight it was gone again and I had to change the language back and forth again.

Another interesting observation: after I added a new device in the Google Home app today, it was not visible under Rooms and Devices. However, Assistant worked fine. Only after I changed the language again did the new device show up.

I hope Google can fix this obvious sofware problem quickly. If I know anything new, I will let you know.

Thanks for your updates. As some other users also pointed out, changing the language seems to be a temporary fix, but it is far from ideal. I am also in contact with support, but with little result thus far.. Let's indeed keep each other updated!

I have no idea if it had anything to do with this - but i turned off the microphone about 10 days ago and forgot to turn it on again - and the homecontrol has been OK since!

I’m turning the microphone on again now, and will update this thread.

Hi all,

Well, I'm afraid I don't have a good solution (yet). I had several contact moments with the support team. I tried changing the settings of my phone and the Google assistant. But once I set the Google assistant back to Dutch, the next day my Home control was empty again.

The support team suggested to say: " Hey Google, send feedback" to the assistant. That would give me 90 sec to explain everything (AGAIN....) and the product team would pick it up. Perhaps my English is not well enough, but I don't think I will be able to explain all the testing in 90 sec... Besides the fact that I would expect that the support team would pick it up with their colleagues from product team...

However, I tried one last thing. I changed the room of the Hub from living room to ground floor. The devices popped up again in the home control screen and guess what... A few days later, the devices are still there... Please don't ask me why haha. Doesn't seem a permanent fix but for me it is working now.

Hopefully you guys have better luck with finding a permanent fix with the support (or product) team.. I am still afraid that the devices will be removed again after a few days, but let's see.

Same issue with Traditional Chinese...

I need to change my google assistant’s language from Chinese to English every single time I made a little change to my google home device setting, just to make it sync to Nest Hub...

Tired of changing language setting twice a time just to make it work.

Also, I need to disconnect and reconnect my WIZ light with Google Home everyday, or the light won’t show up when entering “room” on nest hub. (will show up in “light” though)

Changing language setting twice and reconnect light everyday..., what an inconvenient.
Come on Google, just fix it ASAP.

Hi all,

Nothing new to share besides the fact that the devices are still visible for me and the hub is working as desired. So changing the Hub to different room (ground floor in my case) did the trick for me. I don't need to change (language) settings or anything. Still hoping it will stay like this..
