Now, I know there has been other posts on this. I just wanted to know why the sleep sensing is disabled in certain countries. Is it a law or something, because Microsoft did it too with microsoft rewards. I’m pretty disappointed that features which I payed for are gone because of where I live. I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew that.

Hi there,
What country do you live in?
Linked below is a webpage that lists the countries that Google devices are officially sold.
If you import/purchase a device outside of the official countries then not all functions and features are guaranteed to work.

I live in South Africa. I already know certain features are disabled, I want to know why they are disabled. Is it a law in the country?

Hi again,
This is a community forum supported by other users and community specialist's and as far as I am aware Google hasn't published their reasons for limiting this feature to supported countries.
I can only assume that they need to register for permission to use the Soli radar chip in different countries.

Hi UnidentifiedSqu,
Cathal_S is correct. The features mentioned are country specific.
I understand that this would be a helpful feature, however this option is not available. In line with this, we want to encourage you to send feedback from your end and we’re hoping for all the possibilities by taking our user’s feedback and suggestions.
Let us know if you have additional questions, otherwise we'll be locking the thread in 24 hours.
Kind regards,
Dan
