Nest Hub (G2) can't find or connect to Wi-Fi (Netgear 7800)

I am trying to set up a nest hub (G2) and it cannot find my home Wi-Fi, nor will it connect if I enter the SSID manually.

This is the second nest hub with the issue, I returned one and the replacement has the same problem.

  • All my other google devices can see and connect to the wi-fi (chromecast, speakers, pixel wtahc and phone)
  • I have tried 2.4, 5, and smart connect. It doesn't help.
  • I have tried factory reset, and resetting the router (many times)
  • The router is a Netgeat R7800. Access control is disabled. "Allow guests to see each other and access my local network@ is enabled.
  • I have a G1 home nest that can find and connect to the Wi-Fi just fine

Does anyone know what else I might try?

To add: I have also tried the setup from a Pixel 5, 6, and 7, and a Samsung A52. It made no difference.

Hey malfiehenpox,

You've been awesome doing those steps. I know this step may be out of your way, could you try setting up your Google Nest Hub using a mobile hotspot? If the issue persists, please fill out this form so that we can check this with our team.

Regards,

Alex

Yes, I can connect to a hotspot. I still can't connect to my home wi-fi.
