Nest Hub Inconsistent Results

Hello,

I am going mad with inconsistent results from a Routine on my Nest Hub.

Always when I say 'Play Radio 4' it does what I want which is plays the radio station BBC Radio 4.

But I have a Routine that includes Play Radio 4 and 80% of the time it plays the band Radio 4 from Spotify which is not what I want. 20% of the time it plays the radio station.

I have tried changing the Routine to phrase it differently but it won't consistently play the radio station.

Surely computers should always do the same thing based on the same input ? 🙂

Are you writing a custom action or "Play and Control Media" action?

In a custom action you could try specifying TuneIn if that's the service you want.

Play and control media is probably the preferred option.

Hi,

It was a Play and Control Media, but the suggestion of a Custom Routine seems to have worked saying this, which is exactly what it says when I ask directly

'Play BBC Radio 4 from the BBC'

Using the word "Play" wouldn't have helped in the Play and Control Media radio action.

Just the name of the station, but I'm happy I could help you with an alternative👍
