Nest Hub Max not recording video

JimDec21

I'm certain I have all the camera settings set correctly. I have plenty of bandwidth. My Nest Hub Max has no trouble showing live video but all it ever records are still images. I don't have this problem with my Nest Doorbell cameras which always record video.

Which Nest Aware subscription do you have, a 1st gen Nest Aware subscription (which applies to specific 1st gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells only) or a 2nd gen Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription (which has been available since 2019 and applies to all 1st gen and 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure")?  If you have a 1st gen subscription, is the camera in your Nest Hub Max one of the cameras included in your subscription? If you go to your Nest Hub Max camera in the Google Nest app and go to Settings | Nest Aware, what does it show?

This is a price list of the various subscriptions:

Below is a Help topic on what you get with each subscription. Note that without a subscription, 1st gen cameras (of which the camera in the Nest Hub Max is one) only provide still snapshots of events in the most recent 3 hours:

Thank you. You've answered my question. I don't have a Nest Aware subscription. That's enough to get me 3 hours of video on my doorbell cameras but, as you said, the Nest Hub Max has a first gen camera which only supports still images without a subscription.
