Nest Hub Max stopped displaying Google Photos

My Google Nest Hub Max has suddenly stopped displaying Google Photos, even though that is selected in Photo Frame.  The Google Home app also shows Google Photos selected.  It seems to have defaulted to Art Gallery.

I have rebooted the device several times and on one occasion when it came back the problem seemed to be solved but only for a short time before it reverted to Art Gallery (nice pictures but not what I want to see!)

I am experiencing the same issue. I have tried rebooting, re-selecting albums, and changing my preferences. The display always reverts back to the Art Gallery.

Same here. Plenty of posts about the same issue on Reddit as well. Can change between clock and Art gallery but selecting Google photos just displays Art gallery instead.

I'm having the same problem, which started a couple days ago. In addition, when I go into Edit Photo Frame and get into my photo albums, I am now getting the message "Couldn't Connect". I have tried unplugging the devices and even rebooted our wifi I still get the message.

Hi GeoffT44,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that your Google Nest Hub Max stopped displaying Google Photos. I am happy to assist you! I recommend you check the Google app settings:

  1. Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same Google Account as the speaker or display.

  2. Open the Google Photos app.

  3. At the top right, tap the account's icon.

  4. Verify that the account shown is the one linked to the speaker or display.

    • To switch accounts, choose another account or tap Add another account.

  5. Tap to close the account window.

  6. Tap Photos settings > Apps & devices > Photo Frames.

  7. Tap the Nest display where the album should appear.

  8. Verify that the selected albums match those set in the Home app.

Let me know if all is okay with the recommendations.

Regards,

Manuel

Many thanks for the detailed response.  I think I had already taken all the steps you recommend but went through them again.  At the end, I was still not getting Google Photos on the display but after a final reboot there was a short spell of Art Gallery and the display suddenly switched to Google Photos and has, thankfully, remained on that.

Hi Manuel, I appreciate you reaching out to me to offer your help. For whatever reason my issue has resolved itself, maybe the things I did just took time to go into effect, I don't know. Anyway, all is good so thanks again.
