Nest Hub and Hue

I have a Nest Hub System firmware version 22.2024.0805.103.161 Cast firmware 3.75.446835 and Hue Bridge software version 1.68.1968096020.  I also have 2 nest minis. I have 2 problems with the relationship between the nest devices and my lights:

  1. I use the Hue app to manage rooms and devices.  I use the Hue app because I've had to do resets to my Nest Hub and I don't want to rebuild my home in Google Assistant every time. Whenever I make any change in the Hue App, it does not automatically update in the assistant.  I have to remove access and re-authenticate to make adjustments.  Not a huge deal, but definitely annoying.
  2. The more annoying problem is that when I say - 'hey google, turn on/off X light(s)' it will often say the lights are offline but then a second later I request the same action and it magically works.  So, the device and lights aren't offline but the nest thinks they are for a second.
  3. Also, (unrelated to the Hue though) this week I started getting an error again that I had previously resolved through some searching - when I say good morning, it says 'Sorry that can't be done on that device, check voice match settings in the assistant...' but I haven't changed anything - this must have popped up again due to some kind of firmware update.

Is there a way to resolve these issues?  Thanks

Hi, @AmyJoy!

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand it's frustrating to have to remove access and re-authenticate in the Google Home app every time you make changes in the Hue app and that the Google Assistant doesn't respond until you repeat a command. I'm also sorry you're receiving an error message every time you say "good morning." I'm happy to assist you.

I appreciate you providing the firmware, Cast, and software versions.

This is not typical behavior. To rule out a device glitch and ensure everything is fully updated, please perform a factory reset on the Nest Minis. Then, unlink and relink your Hue lights, using the instructions in this article: Use smart lights with Google Nest or Home devices

If the issue persists after these troubleshooting steps, our development team would like to investigate further. We would appreciate it if you could share your feedback. Your opinion is valuable to us as we strive to enhance Google Home devices.

Feel free to reply if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Ana
