Nest Hub in group with Nest Audio Pair - How to get the Hub to respond?

I have a Nest Hub paired with 2 Nest Audios in a group.  Whenever I use Google Assistant, the Hub will show the question on the screen but the Nest Audio answers the question.  If I ask the Hub to "show me the Seahawks schedule", instead the Nest Audio will just respond with the next game info instead of showing me the schedule on the Hub.

Is there a way to set which device you want to respond?

I've tried turning off the mic for the Nest Audios, but when you do that oranges lights come on that can't turn off, which was a terrible design choice.

Hi BryanK,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. A few questions: which device are you using when asking for general inquiry? Are the speakers in the same room? Also, did you set up a preferred speaker for audio playback?

If the preferred speaker feature is enabled try to reset it. Check this helpful link.

Keep me in the loop.

Best,

Juni

The speakers are in the same room.  1 - Nest Hub & 2 - Google Audio as a speaker pair.  All devices and groups set to Nest Hub as default for audio playback.  Set mic sensitivity to highest for Nest Hub and lowest for Google Audio.  It's 50/50 which speaker will answer.

I'll ask to show me the Seahawks schedule and half the time it will display the schedule on the screen and the other half the speaker will tell me the next game.  I only want the Hub assistant to respond.

Obvious solution is to be able to mute the mics, but you get those horrible orange lights when you mute the speakers.  So while it's muted from my ears it's assaulting my eyes.

Hi there,

It appears that this feature that you are asking for is yet to be supported. This is going to be a great addition to what Google Nest speakers and displays can do. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it using the Google Home app. Here's how.

Let us know if you have other questions and concerns otherwise, we will be locking this thread after 24 hours.
