Nest Hub is garbage made by Google/ cannot be configured to WIFI

I experienced

1 gen, after a while it cannot be configured to connect WiFi.

2 gen, got from the vendor as guarantee, it worked fine. After disruption, I tried it reconnect to WIFI, BUt it turns to garbage, as it never connect to WIFI, even though I am told to check Privacy setup which is absolutely correct!

I replaced another wifi router and another Iphone SE which did configured it before, but both ended with failure after 2 hours tryout!

Google is responsible to turn it into garbage once it lost connection once! This is s scandal!

Note all the thread about factory reset, mobile restart, router restart, another phone failed in make it live again

FK google as IT cartel!

Hi Gonsion,

Thanks for posting. I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you, let me help you out.

A few questions: have you been able to connect to this network before? Are you using a dual band router? Also, who is your internet provider?

Could you check these recommended router settings and let us know if it will make a difference?

  • Enable: Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), multicast, Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP)
  • Disable: AP / client isolation, virtual private networks (VPNs), proxy servers, IGMP Proxy. VPNs and proxy servers should be disabled on your computer as well (if applicable).

You can also setup your Google Nest Hub using a mobile hotspot to further isolate the issue, See the instructions below:

(You would need 2 mobile devices: 1st is for the Google Home app and 2nd will act as a Wi-Fi network using mobile hotspot)

  1. Turn on the mobile hotspot of your 2nd mobile device.
  2. Reset your Google Home Hub to its default settings.
  3. Make sure your 1st device is connected to the mobile hotspot of your 2nd mobile device.
  4. Re-run the setup on your Google Home app and choose your mobile hotspot as the network to set it up.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Juni
