Nest Hub mini 2ndGen doesn’t see wifi 5Ghz during setup

I just bought a google nest hub mini and when I set it up it can’t see my SSID for my 5GHz wifi.

it only sees the SSID for my 2.4Ghz band wifi network.

the iPhone I’m using to setup the nest hub is connected to the 5GHz SSID with a strong connection.
The  Nest Hub mini 2ndGen is running firmware 324896. My wifi is on channel 38 and channel 46.

i can successfully connect it to my the 2.4Ghz network but I want it to use the 5G band because there is less interference.

Hi Khalilhabash

Thanks for reaching out and for providing detailed information on your issue and the steps that you've done — these are of great help!

If it’s working on 2.4 Ghz there could be some settings in your 5 Ghz network that might be causing this. Check these recommended router settings and observe if it will work.

  • Enable: Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), multicast, Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP)
  • Disable: AP / client isolation, virtual private networks (VPNs), proxy servers, IGMP Proxy. VPNs and proxy servers should be disabled on your computer as well (if applicable).
  • Change DNS addresses: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
  • If IPv6 is enabled, try disabling it for the meantime

Let me know how it goes..

Thanks,

Juni
