Nest Mini Suddenly Skips Songs With Explicit Content

I tried casting "Killing in the Name" by RATM to my nest mini from YouTube music on my Pixel 6. It started giving me popup warnings on my phone about explicit content, and skipped the song, and this happened with every subsequent song containing explicit content. I went through all of the settings and can't get this activity to stop. The songs play fine on my Pixel when I am not casting. How do I get my speakers to return to playing songs that contain explicit content?

Hi @ericptak

You're right, it can be frustrating when your speakers skip explicit songs you want to cast. Based on what you mention, most probably the reason for this is the Digital Wellbeing Filter:

  • Your Pixel 6 might have Digital Wellbeing filters enabled that restrict explicit content. These filters can apply even when casting to other devices.
  • Check your Pixel 6 settings for Digital Wellbeing or Parental Controls. Look for options related to music or filtering explicit content. Here are the steps to disable any filters that might be restricting explicit content playback.

Please try those steps, and let us know if you're still facing the same situation or if has been fixed.

All the best,

Josh
