Nest Mini keeps unlinking from Home

Hi,

I've seen numerous of threads on this issue and I've been experiencing it for about 1,5 months now. 

After I factory reset the device I try to connect it with the Google Home app on my Android phone, the setup process always fails in the last step which bricks the Nest Mini untill I factory reset it. After this I tried pairing it on an iOS device (which worked) but after about 2 hours it randomly unlinks itself again.

 

I have even bought a new Nest Mini but it has the same problem, so it has to be an app issue. That's 40 bucks wasted...

In summary I have tried:

- Factory Resetting the speaker

- Reinstalling the Google Home app

- Trying it on a different device

- Trying it on a different account

- Trying it on a different WiFi network

Nothing works, and my original Google Home Mini which I have had for about 2 years is operating without a hitch. Please help!

Hey Yetaqy,

 

That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― I really appreciate you doing all the necessary steps before posting. There’s one more thing I want you to try. You need 2 phones for this because one phone is used for the setup and the other is where you connect to. You need to connect to another phone’s mobile hotspot. Before doing so, do the factory reset one last time to revert your Google Nest Mini to its default and original settings. Keep in mind that you need to connect the setup phone to the other phone’s hotspot first before proceeding with the set up.

Hi Dan,

i have the same issue as Yetaqy. I have 2 Nest min  (2nd Gen) and one Google Nest Audio. All of them are set up and working since more than a year. Since about 6 Weeks the Nest Mini stopped playing music (radio or spotify). To get them back working i needed to reset them to factory settings, but since then they keep unlinking from the app every few hours (even during music playback). The Nest Audio works perfectly fine in the same WLAN.

To get the Mini back working i need to connect it again with the app and do a restart, Afterwards they work for a few hours.

The issue is not solved. My two google Nest Mini keep disconnectin everyday and I need to reconnect them manually.
