Nest Mini not connected on google home but woks ok except play music

Hi everyone!

I have a Nest Mini since 2 days

System firmware: 505721
Cast Firmware: 3.77.505721

When I I try to setup I put area name, Wifi connection, Spotify but at the end its says that was not configurated correctly. I have try 3 times same issue. Its very strange that the name of the nest is the same that the name of the area I choose. Anyway after rebooting all seems works correctly, I can ask and it respond, control volume by phone (google home), I can ask for play music and all is ok, but after some time in google home the nest mini is offline. I can ask for all except to play music that say its not connected.

Device is connected to wifi because I can see in watchyourlan, Nest mini is near to router, I test sometimes reset and setup again but always same issue at the end (its very strange that the name of the device is same as the area), I try to create a new area named nest mini salon and then asociate to other area named salon and delete the virtual area in order to have a correct name. Nothing works only some time after setup.

I’m not sure what’s going on. Any advice would be really appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with a Nest Mini running the same firmware (3.77.505721), while another Nest Mini with firmware 3.77.505077 works perfectly. After searching through all the available support information, I suspect the problem is the firmware, because both are connected to the same network, and I've even connected them in the same location next to the router, yet the problem persists only with the one running firmware 3.77.505721. What would be the solution?

is it possible a downgrade version of the firmware?

I have a similar problem. Now my Mini speaker cant even be seen on the home network, and cant be reconnected. As usual, the ‘self help’ section has a lot of us running around looking for answers while it’s impossible to get straight to Google for solutions.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I’m sorry to hear about the persistent issues you're experiencing with your Google Nest Mini (2nd gen) going offline shortly after setup, despite seemingly working correctly initially and being connected to your Wi-Fi network. Don’t worry; I’d be more than pleased to help.

I appreciate your time and effort in completing the troubleshooting steps described in the post. To assist you further, could you please provide the following details?

  • Are you using an Android or iOS device to perform the setup?
  • Are you using a 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, or dual-band Wi-Fi network?
  • Do you have any special characters in your Wi-Fi network name or password?
  • Have you tried performing a factory reset using the physical reset method on the Nest Mini (2nd gen)? To review the steps, refer to this article: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays
  • Does the device’s LED behavior change when it shows as offline in the Google Home app?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Daniel

Android on a Samsung A52 and ios on a Iphone 16 pro.

Dual Band, although I tried using only 2.4 and only 5.

No special characters.

Have factory reset and nothing different on leds.

Furthermore, I have another Nest Mini with a different firmware version and it doesn't fail.

My google nest mini 2. gen disconnects to my WiFi almost every day. Factory reset of the speaker solves the problem but only for so long. My other Google Nest Minis are connected to the same WiFi with no problems. Both speakers are located within 2 meter from my router. What is causing the problem?

Greetings
