Hi All. We've had a nest mini in our home for a couple of years. Over the past 4-6 months we are waking up to find it has been removed from 'Home' at random hours of the morning while we are asleep by my partner's account (who is registered as part of the Home App household). My thoughts are his phone is doing a reboot or something similar that is causing this to happen. Any thoughts on what we can change in his settings to stop this? We've just turned the nest off and don't bother with it anymore as it was painful re-linking it to our Home App every day or so. Thanks in advance.

Hi Lennie00,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.
That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s check what’s going on. A few things: are you experiencing Wi-Fi issues when the issue happens? Are you getting a notification on the Google Home app that your Google Nest Mini got unlinked? How frequent does the device unlink (daily, weekly, etc.)
If you already did a reboot you can do a full reset and observe if this will correct your issue. Check the step below.
Here’s how to do the reset, on the side of your Google Nest Mini, switch the mic off. The LEDs will turn orange. Press and hold the center of your Nest Mini, where the lights are on top. After 5 seconds, your Google Nest Mini will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more until you hear a sound confirming your Google Nest Mini is resetting.
You can also check the helpful link below and let me know how it goes.

Hi Juni,
Thanks for following up. I have completed the factory reset. I think 🙂 I will add the nest back into my home and see what happens over the next week.
I can confirm that we have no problems with our Wi-Fi. It does not drop out. I get a notification on my phone around 3-4am stating that # has disconnected the nest from home. He has not done this purposefully as he is asleep next to me. It happens regularly enough, but I haven't noticed a consistent schedule of days as such.
Hopefully the factory reset helps. Thanks for walking me through how to do it.
Regards, Lynette

It's been two nights, and it hasn't disconnected yet. If it lasts 2 weeks, I'll consider it fixed! 😄 Thanks!
