Nest Mini won't activate

I just moved to a new apartment and am trying to connect my Android device/Google home to my nest mini. It is saying that I need to activate the nest mini, but when I go through those steps, it says that it can't communicate with my nest mini. I've tried rebooting my wifi, unplugging and replugging my nest mini, etc. and nothing seems to help. It worked fine at my old apartment and I never had this issue. I don't want to just buy a new one when this one's only a few months old. Any help???

Yeah I'm running into the same issue. I moved and didn't hook my mini up for sometime. I went to go hook it up. It won't connect to wifi I've downloaded the device utility go through that set up and as soon as I enter my password. It says it can't communicate with the device. I rebooted them device, cleared data from Home, attempted to connect manually via Bluetooth but that doesn't work only via device utility. It refuses to connect to wifi.

So I did some more digging online and I think that this is one of those glitches that just doesn't have a fix yet 😕 They're at least fairly cheap, but I hate having a next to new device just sitting in a drawer essentially useless after I only used it for 6 months. Hope you have better luck than me!

True using a different device. I was having the same issue and call customer support. They told me to try it on a different device. I have a Google pixel and my boyfriend has an iPhone. It connected immediately on the iPhone. I don't know if it is because they were previously connected to my Google phone or if it doesn't wanna work on Android devices anymore. I just logged into my Google account on his phone and it worked so fast. Then I just went back on my phone and it was all there and works perfectly. Hope that helps.

I'm having the same problem with my Nest Mini but Leslied's solution (trying to set it up via an iPhone) hasn't worked for me. Google, can you please help fix this?

OK, factory reset of the Nest Mini V2 (per this thread: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Nest-mini-and-audio-will-not-connect-to...) solved it!

The other thing about that is that I don't have another device to try - I don't have someone else's device to use. So that's not really an actual fix, Google?

Hey folks,
It looks like we have come to a solution so I'm going to be locking this thread. If you have any other concerns or questions, please feel free to create a new thread.

Have a great day.

Think I've got it!

In Play store, install "Device Utility" from Google LLC.  Then follow steps and it'll hand you off to the Google home at the proper time.

Happy teching!
