Nest Mini won't change TV station. It will open YouTube!

Hello!

I have own aPhilips Google TV 43PUS756/12 with integrated Chromecast (QTG3.201102.001 - 1.56.275391)

Tv has the newest firmware available: 001.001.091.006.

I both tried WIFI or ETHERNET and often TV won't turn on when I say "Hey Google, Turn On Tv" (in my language of course). Sometimes It works, anyways.

The thing that makes me really mad is that when I say (for instance) "Hey Google, tune on channel 1" (or something similar in italian) .. it says like "Yes, I am loading Channel One on YouTube".

Why?!? It should simply change my tv station!

What do you suggest me to do?

Thanks!

First, give your TV a name ( Freds Tv) in the app, then when you want to turn on the tv. "Hey Google turn on Freds Tv". For changing the channel, use the remote that came with the Tv, it is not worth the aggravation to try and get Google to do it.

Hi! Thanks for reply! Yes My Tv has already a name. Anyway if I have to use remote to change channel I can use remote for everything. I thought it was great to ask for something other platforms do without using hands

I haven't been able to get Alexa, or Siri to reliably change the channel either. But thay are all good at turning them on and off.

Alexa works fine .. well works BETTER for my parent's TV. Their TV is a cheaper Hitachi (I think with ROKU) and Alexa can change channels. I was guessing that an Android TV from a brand like Philips would work fine with an assistant from Google. I was wrong. No matter how I ask google to switch channel  ... it simply will search for it on YOUTUBE.

I noticed that It uses "Live TV". If I say "Hey Google, tune "Rai 1" (or channel X) on Live TV" it would reply "Ok! I will show you Rai1 on live tv on YOUTUBE", and instead of showing me the actual live transmission It shows some random video from that broadcast's Youtube channel.

Ok. It's not a crucial feature and for 20€ my nest mini was cheap ... but right now it's almost useless.
