Nest Speaker Group – no casting possible

Unfortunately, I can use my speakers individually (cast my audio) but not in the group. The group is displayed, but there is no button or other option to play music through it. However, the group shows both speakers.

The following information may be important:
- Phone: Samsung Flip 3
- Google Home app re-downloaded, deleted again and redid everything.
- Nest audio both new and can be used individually

It is very frustrating, I bought two Nest Audio and three Nest Mini and wanted to play the same music in all rooms - now just the groups do not work ...

Maybe someone could help me?

Thanks for posting.

 

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your Google Nest speakers. Before we start some steps, let's make sure that the following are checked.

 

  • Distance of your Google Nest speakers from each other and your router.
  • All speakers should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • All speakers are set up on the same Home structure on the Home app.

If everything are completely checked, let's try first to delete the speaker groups you created and create a new one.

 

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app
  3. Tap Devices Add New Device .
  4. Select Speaker group.
  5. Tap each device you want to add to the group. A check Check will appear next to each device you select.
  6. Tap Next enter a name for your group Save.

Let me know if it works.

Unfortunately, it does not work. If I want to address the group via an app, e.g. Spotify, it works - but it does not work with "Cast my Audio". What can I do?

No, the simple "cast my Audio" is still not working ... only via the apps
