I received a nest audio from my friend for my birthday. It worked well, once I moved to a new apartment I had to switch to a new wi-fi. It kept telling me it was registered to a different device already, so I factory reset it.
Now, it turns on, the lights move back and forth as if it is searching for connection. It doesn't make any noise (not when you turn it on or anything) and it doesn't respond to any touches (no reset, no volume up/down etc.)
I have almost no use, the device is in great physical condition and is impossible to use.
What can I do to make this thing work? Or will I have to go to ridiculous effort to reach out to my friend and ask for her purchasing details, ship it in, and get a replacement.
Honestly pretty big flaw for a device that has just been sitting on my desk used maybe 1 time every 2 weeks. .

After the factory reset, you have to set the device up like a new one.
Please be sure to remove the Nest Audio from your Google Home app first before trying the setup.
I hope you will resolve it this way so you can enjoy your speaker again. 😊

Hello,
Thank you for the reply-
I am trying to set it up as a new one. There are no devices on my home app.
I choose to add a new device and nothing pops up.

Could you try to factory reset it for a second time?
On the back of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Audio, near the top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

Hi Alex. I have a very similar issue. I changed the network in my house (new provider). I tried to change the network using the Google Home AP - it went through the whole process, but after I put in the new network password - the message was "this was set up by a different user, you must do a factory reset. I watched several videos on how to do this, but they all said to do a factory reset the mini had to be connected to the internet. It of course is not. I tried anyway and nothing happened. How did you Factory reset it?
