Nest audio speakers missing stereo pair option in Home app

DanS

I have 2 Google Nest audio speakers.  They are identical and have the same firmware version.  When I try to create a stereo pair for them in my Android Home app, the Stereo pair option is missing in the Home app.  I know I can create a group, but I want them paired.  I do not have any other groups, and I have tried restarting everything.  They are all on the same WiFi network.  I am aware that only same model devices can be used in a stereo pair, which they are.

Any suggestions on how to get this working?

Hey there,

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried? Have you tried deleting the group and re-adding the speakers again?

Please let me know.

Best regards,

Hi Garrett DS,

Thanks for checking in.  I most certainly do need help.  I am unable to create the Stereo pair at all.  I have never been able to create the Stereo pair.  It is not presented as an option in the Home app.  I followed the instructions in this Google help document:

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7559493?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid#zippy=%2Cgoog...

I have 2 Google Nest Audio speakers in the same room, on the same WiFi network, and yet the Stereo pair option is not available for either speaker.

Hey there DanS,

I'm so sorry to hear that you've never had the option to create that, I'm sure it's confusing, but I'm happy to look into this for you.

Would you mind letting me know what kind of device you have?

Also where are you located?

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

HI Garrett DS,

I have 2 newest generation Nest Audio speakers.  I am located in Canada.

Hey DanS,

I know you said that they are both the newest generation of speakers, but I just wanted to double check to make sure that they are both the same generation because I know that you can not pair 2 speakers that are different generations together either. Also, are the speakers located in the same room as well?

If you're still not allowed the option to pair, I would suggest providing feedback directly within the app that you are unable to pair as this option should be available to you given those factors.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,

Garrett DS,

Yes, they are both Nest Audio speakers.  They are both in the same room.  They are both on the same WiFi network.

I went ahead and sent feedback in the Home app.  Let's hope someone can help resolve this.

Thanks.
