Nest hub 2. Terribly slow

RicardoVenancio

My nest hub is terribly slow, i already disabled the sensor. When i try to play a music by default it puts the video, stops at mid song. It seems to take ages to download the music. But its like beside the router, by the way a nest wifi.

the nest minis i have seem to work fine. I already increased sensitivy, but it seems the contection to internet maybe very very slow.

It seems to got better. I had done a lot of things before including a factory reset, but i had changed the place of the hub few days, and it’s now little closer to the router.

what i have noticed, it was that the hub was stuck at the 2,4 ghz wifi, and informed weak connection. It is 3 meters from the router thou.  Maybe the space is congestioned and interferes with the hub making it slow. With the factory reset it connected with the 5 ghz wifi and it seems for now to have made the hub fast enough to be used.

Hi RicardoVenancio,

Thanks for visiting the Google Nest Community. I’m glad to hear that you were able to sort this out. The 2.4 GHz band works best for farther devices, while the 5 GHz is the fastest connection and works best with closer devices. Interference may also be a factor, especially if the Google Nest Hub 2nd gen is close to a device that can also broadcast its own signal.

If you have other questions or concerns about your Google Nest Hub 2nd gen, let me know.

Regards,
Alex
