I added a new nest hub. I go into the “Home Control” section.
The camera is off due to it being the battery model and due to presence sensing I am home. I want to turn the camera on and see what is going on outside. I tap the doorbell camera and it just tells me how much battery is left.
Is there no way to turn on the camera from the nest hub? Is my mobile phone and the home app the only way to do that?
I wanted the hub to have control my home in lieu of having to dig out my phone and launch the home app to do everything.

Hi Foopy,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.
I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should, so let’s get this resolved. You can control your camera via voice command check the commands that you can use below.
Say "Ok Google" or "Hey Google," then:
Start stream
"Show [camera name]"
"What's on [camera name]?"
"[Camera name] on [Nest display name]"
"Play [camera name] on [Nest display name]"
"Show [camera name] on [Nest display name]"
Stop stream
"Stop"
Check this helpful link for more information.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Juni
