Hi,
I have a home with multiple Nest Cams (Indoor, 2nd gen) and multiple Nest Hubs (2x 1st gens 1x 2nd gen). I regularly use the hubs to stream the cameras.
Everything was working fine until a few months ago when one of the Nest Hubs (2nd gen) started refusing to stream any of the nest cam feeds. On some occassions, it would say that the feed isn't available and on other occassions, it would stream the audio from the camera, but not the video (black screen). Mostly though, it won't do anything at all. When I press the camera it looks like it's trying to stream but after a few seconds, it just goes back to to the Home Control menu.
The strangest thing of all though is that when I open the Home app on my phone to view the camera, then stream suddenly starts working on the Hub, and continues working as long as I have the app open and running. When I close the app/lock my phone, the nest hub usually stops streaming after a short time.
Any ideas?

I suspect the cameras need some sort of keep alive that everything but the hub sends. I have a secondary computer that when I need to leave a hub running for like a babysitter I pull up the feed on it and the thing will run for hours.

Maybe, but it doesn't explain why everything was working on this Hub until a few months ago.
Previously, I was able to stream the cameras on the hub without problem.

Used to work fine for me too. An update to either the camera or hub introduced this bug.

Ah, didn't realise this was a common issue! Thought it was just me/my hub! Is there any confirmation/admission from Google and any indication of a fix?
Thanks for the tip about streaming on a computer - that will save my phone battery!

Nothing from Google here besides people replying with canned responses to reboot the device or do a factory reset.
