Hello everyone,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Here's some helpful steps to follow on setting up your Google Nest speakers.

Set up your speaker or display on the new Wi-Fi network:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. At the top left, tap Add and then Set up device plus and then New device and then set up new devices in your home.
  3. Follow the in-app steps.

If these steps don’t solve the issue, you’ll need to factory reset your speaker or display, then set it up again.

If your speaker or display is currently connected to a Wi-Fi network

If your speaker or display is connected to an existing Wi-Fi network, but you'd like to connect it to a new one, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. At the top right corner, tap Settings and then Device information.
  4. Next to "Wi-Fi," tap Forget. You’ll be taken back to the Home app home screen.
  5. Follow the setup steps to set up your device on the new Wi-Fi network.

If you get an error message that says "could not communicate with your [device]" when you try to forget your network, or the steps above don't work, you'll need to factory reset your device and set it up again.

Hope this works.

Princess

Hi svantessone,

What message are you getting when connecting your Nest Hub to your Wi-Fi? If you're using an iOS, make sure the Local Network Access for Google Home app is enabled on your phone settings. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app. If possible, check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled). Also for isolation, try setting it up using mobile hotspot.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Alex

Hey svantessone,

To make sure, are you able to successfully connect your Nest Hub to your network? If you're not able to connect it to your 5 GHz Wi-Fi, try moving it closer to your router since it provides faster speeds but at a shorter range.

Alex
