Nest hub wont stay online

It's been about 2, maybe 3 years since we have owned this device. It has been in the same place, connected to the same network (s). No changes, has not been bumped, knocked over or anything. The last 2 weeks, the hub will not stay online. Nor, do we get notified that it is offline. It just goes blank screen when we try to view it. The only fix we have is to un plug and plug back in. And this only works for about 15 mins and it goes right back to being offline, dark, spinning ( in the app ). Anyone else having this issue? Have you found an actual way to fix it?

I had posted a few months back about our wifi points CONSTANTALY being offline since day one!! And randomly going out for no reason. We have 2 sets now because of this and it is ONLY the Google ( waste of time and $$ ) products that do this. All other wifi extenders, routers, camera's.... all work fine and stay connected and online without issue. I was never able to get a resolution to that issue. Even AFTER trying the absurd things they had suggested. Now I have 8 useless (expensive) wifi points. About to be 10 useless, expensive outdoor camera's, 1 indoor expensive nest hub, and 3 useless expensive thermostats! Sooooo many regrets!

Hi Jessylynne,

This is not the experience we want you to have; let us help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? Is it a Nest Hub or Nest Hub (2nd Gen)? It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord from your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Also, you can revert your Nest Hub to its default settings by doing a factory reset. Here’s how:

  1. On the back of your Nest Hub, press and hold both volume buttons together for about 10 seconds.
  2. Your Nest Hub will let you know that it's resetting.
  3. Redo the setup.

If the concern persists, let’s eliminate network issues. Please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one to serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home or Nest devices). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Dan
